DofE Gold Expedition

Details: For individuals or groups D of E regulations apply (Minimum one practice hike of 2 days & 2 nights consecutively) completed prior to booking Based at Dundee & Angus Battalion's outdoor centre, Scott Lodge in Glen Doll in the heart of the Angus hills. Places are limited to 28 maximum. Early registration is advised, registrations will be dealt with in strict order of receipt. Full details of requirements, qualifications and transport arrangements will be sent direct to all participants. Sessions will include: Inspection of expedition equipment. Checks on menus and expedition food. A familiarisation hike to check navigation skills and group disciplines/dynamics on Thursday. Final route preparation and briefing. A four day expedition commencing on Friday morning. Booking Fee BB members: £75.00 (Note: No refund will be available) Accommodation and food are provided at the base until Friday morning then candidates should be fully equipped with personal and camping equipment and food for the four day expedition

OPEN GOLD DofE EXPEDITION - DARTMOOR

Details: The Boys’ Brigade, in partnership with Chase Training Solutions, are organising an Open Gold DofE Expedition on Dartmoor during 17th – 23rd August 2019. Based at Dartmoor Activity Centre Broadleas, Haytor, Devon, and staffed by qualified supervisors and assessors. This is an excellent opportunity to link in with other individuals and groups to complete a qualifying or full practice expedition. The cost is £185.00, and the expedition is open to Boys’ Brigade & Girls’ Brigade members; and participants from any organisation or group. Payment covers assessment and safety supervision, accommodation, campsite fees, meals from the evening on the first day until the start of the expedition, celebratory meal after successful completion of your expedition, breakfast and lunch following the expedition. Details: Heartstart is a programme from the British Heart Foundation which teaches people of all ages about Emergency Life Support. A Heartstart course lasts two hours and covers emergency response and resuscitation techniques. Running a Heartstart course within your company is an excellent way to cover the Emergency Aid topic in the Discover Programme. This course is intended for those wishing to teach Heartstart within their Company, a basic knowledge of first aid is required for participants before attending.
